Space-Efficient MEP Design for a Data Centre

This project involved creating and implementing an innovative Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design for a data centre with significant space constraints. The primary challenge was to maximise functionality within the confined spaces of the data centre structures.

Scope

The project scope included the following deliverables:

Space-Efficient MEP Design: Developing a comprehensive MEP design that effectively utilises the limited available space, ensuring optimal functionality without compromising system performance.

Innovative Routing Solutions: Implementing creative routing strategies to maximise space use, ensuring seamless integration of MEP services within the confined environment.

Challenge

The primary challenge was efficiently accommodating all necessary MEP services within the limited space available in the data centre structures. This required innovative design strategies and careful planning to ensure that all systems could function effectively without exceeding spatial limitations.

Solution

To overcome these challenges, we employed the following strategies:

Optimised Design: A space-efficient MEP design was developed using Autodesk Revit, focusing on compact and efficient layouts to ensure that all systems fit within the confined spaces.

Innovative Routing: Advanced routing techniques were implemented using Revit, optimising the pathways for MEP services to avoid space conflicts and ensure seamless integration of all systems.
